Movie Reviews of Antz

Movie Review: Perfection
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie makes you realize how small we really are...but yet some people don't realize this movie and how true it can be involving our lives. This movie was very well done and if anyone thinks otherwise then they are living in there own dream world. For the fact is that we may be just as small as ANTZ....working in our own world and not even knowing it. How many times has anyone wished to be in some one elses shoes. I have.. and I'm sure a lot of people out there have wanted that wish too. Well the fact of the matter is that sometimes running away to another world is beneficial and sometimes it is not. By watching this movie I can see that sometimes by going by your own instinct you can be a hero. All you need is instinct to try and accomplish something and thats what this ANT did. All of a sudden you find yourself to be a hero and you didn't even try to get there. It just seems like a lot of ANTZ (people) wanted to follow. There is nothing like happiness and it seems like this ANT found it while saving his ANTZ world. Sometimes you have to have faith and thats what this ANT did. Definitley a must buy. I thought this movie was geared towards kids but it's more detailed to adults. You'll love it. A must buy.....ENJOY.

Movie Review: A very well rendered kid-adult movie.

Who knew a cartoon could have such deep views and ideas about Utopias, communism, dictatorship, and governmental oppression? This is one of the best I have watched. The movie itself is wonderful and has a very deep and involving plot even though you might not expect it. The characters are well written and it doesn't fall into the typical cliches like disney movies do. As for the disc, the video quality is the BEST I've seen, no pixels were present in the video. Heck, I tried to find something wrong with the video quality and I couldn't! The 5.1 audio is excellent also and the .1 channel knows when exactly when to come in. The vibrant sounds never fight with the dialogue, and the movie has a great sense of 5.1 surround creating a real environment. The features are also where this DVD shines. The colorfull animated windows are user friendly leading you to Behind the scenes featurettes, The basics of computer animation, CG facial and character designs, commentaries, a trailor, 4 TV spots, and more. Overall, this is how all DVD's should be and will set a standard. It's a good movie for kids AND adults and I mean that, I'm a 20 year old Male and I loved it. This is definately a movie adults could enjoy.

Movie Review: "Insectopia"
Summary: 5 Stars

A WONDERFUL animated romantic comedy, Antz, brings to the screen the story of a lowly worker ant who falls in love with an ant princess whose hand has already been promised to the colony's general. To complicate things even more, the whole ant colony is in danger not so much from without as from within...
Woody Allen, Sharon Stone, Sylvester Stallone, Gene Hackman, Christopher Walken, Jennifer Lopez, Dan Aykroyd, Danny Glover, and the rest of this AMAZING cast, have truly outdone themselves with their performances, which are exceptional to say the least! All the actors, without exceptions, give it their 100% and it really shows (the animation does come ALIVE)! Very well written and very well presented, the movie is without a doubt guaranteed to provide more than just a few laughs.
The setting, the plot, the dialogues, the humor, and the music are all EXCELLENT!
In short, Antz is a movie definitely worth watching and one to seriously consider adding to your movie collection! Strongly recommended along with the Shrek movies, Madagascar, and Monsters Inc.

Movie Review: Impressive in pretty much all areas of animated filmmaking.
Summary: 5 Stars

Antz is a movie you will have to watch twice to appreciate. I didn't really like sitting through this movie at the theatre, but when it came on television recently, I decided to give it another shot. And I had myself in a knot! I was totally shocked by the fantastically original script I hadn't noticed earlier, which contains many cool jokes and the story of an ant who wants freedom. We can really relate to the characters - maybe not to their looks - Z is a very detailed and truthful role model for children 7 - 10 years of age. There is a star-studded cast in there as well, Woody Allen, Gene Hackman, Sharon Stone, Sylvester Stallone, Jennifer Lopez, and it is really nice to see all of them getting into the material and really doing something different. Woody Allen, voicing Z, really manages to bring out the adult humour in the film, which gives the kids and the grown-ups plenty to enjoy. However, it's really the script and the beautiful animation that take the cake in this fabulous journey through the life of an ant that is really one of the best movies of 1998.

Movie Review: Great Film for Kids or Adults
Summary: 5 Stars

This film has more stars in it that you can shake a stick at, not that you'd do that because it would be rude! Anyway, this film has some serious star power, with names like Stallone, Woody Allen, J. Lo, Sharon Stone, Christopher Walken, Danny Glover and more. This film is as big a treat for adults as it is for kids.

The film follows a lowly worker ant, aptly named `Z' through his monotonous life, which by the way, he's sick of. He yearns for something different. In typical Hollywood style, he gets it, and gets more than he bargained for!

The CGI animation is spectacular, as is the voice acting. The extras on the disk are also pretty good, although that's not really why I got it. I really liked the plot and the characters. Woody Allen was a perfect fit as `Z'. I liked this film much more than `A Bug's Life', which I found a bit slow. The characters didn't have as much appeal in ABL as Antz either.

Like I said before, this is a great film for kids and adults. It has a good message, which is, even the smallest person (or ant) can make a difference.
