Movie Review: Great for kids of all ages!
Summary: 5 Stars
My two year old son and four year old daughter absolutely love The Animal Band. They have this DVD and three CDs and they love them all. They dance to the music (much better than being a couch potato), and I enjoy listening to it, too. The best thing about this DVD is that both of my children like it, so there is no fussing about what to watch. If they are disagreeing, I suggest The Animal Band and they always get excited.

If kids aren't able to attend a concert show of the Animal Band, there is sweet consolation in this 12-song musical video filmed before a live audience and brimming with positive messages of family togetherness, animal appreciation, and individual uniqueness. No act of zaniness is too daft for the six-member band specializing in catchy, upbeat entertainment, stage hilarity, and audience participation, while drawing youngsters into their funfest like bees to honey. Musicians of notable talent perform rock, blues, and country songs interspersed with live-action video clips. Kids will relate to ballads such as "Going to School Blues," while giggling at the bass guitarist dressed in a gorilla suit; then they'll stretch their imaginations in "I Like Reading" as mountain climbers and deep-sea divers. With broad appeal on par with such entertainers as Raffi and the Wiggles, the Animal Band deserves accolades for its high-energy concerts that captivate the youngest viewers while enlivening the rest.
