Movie Review: Inspiring show for young dancers!

My 4-year-old is just beginning to get interested in ballet and dance and the Angelina Ballerina stories and DVDs provide loads of inspiration whilst serving to entertain at the same time.
There are 4 episodes altogether [12 mins each] - "The Lucky Penny" [Angelina learns the value of practice], "The legend of Big Paw" [Angelina, cousin Henry and dad go camping], "Angelina and Anya" [Angelina learns not to make assumptions about people] , and "The Gymnastics Competition" [Angelina's best friend Alice learns to overcome her fear and build confidence in order to master the balance beam]
The animated stories remain faithful to the source material by Katharine Holabird, and retain the original illustrations by Helen Craig. The quality of the animation is above average, lending an almost real-life quality to the little mice, and the language is clear [British accent is used here]. In between the animated episodes, there are scenes of actual dance lessons, either ballet, folk or others.
I'd highly recommend the Angelina Ballerina series of DVDs to aspiring young dancers, those who love immersing themselves in a world inhabited by adorable little mice and this is probably suited to preschoolers and up.
Summary of Angelina Ballerina - The Lucky Penny
When Angelina finds a lucky penny, she decides she doesn't need to practice for an important audition. But when she loses the penny, she realizes that practice makes perfect after all. With Angelina's support, Alice enters a gymnastics championship and learns to persevere as she overcomes her fear of the balance beam. Angelina also lends a helping hand to her new friend, Anya, a harvest mouse who is down on her luck, and to her grandpa as she searches for his lost war medal. It's a lucky day for everyone in Angelina Ballerina: The Lucky Penny!Based on the Angelina books (written by Katharine Holabird with illustrations by Helen Craig), these four episodes tout the power of practice, common sense, an open mind, and perseverance. In "The Lucky Penny," Angelina decides there's no need to practice for an important audition after finding a lucky penny--unfortunately, she loses the penny the night before the big audition. Angelina and Henry get lost looking for Grandpa's lost war medal and fear the attack of a mythical cat in "The Legend of Big Paw," and Angelina learns the folly of prejudging a fellow mouse in "Angelina and Anya." Finally, Alice must overcome her fear of the balance beam to win an important gymnastics competition in "The Gymnastics Championship."
