Movie Review: a wonderful surprise

I previously owned only one Broadway-concert DVD, that was Les Miz at Royal Albert Hall and it was superb. I watched the Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway-concert performance in Royal Albert on TV, but I did not think it could match. The "big stars" did not impress me.
Beijing intrigued me and I had never seen this "Masterpiece" DVD until I purchased it from amazon.com, while I was browsing their website.
In addition to the local cast, the performers were all Australians and it was the Really Useful Group from Australia, and they rehearsed in their own country before traveling to China. The only exception I believe was Elaine Paige, and they could have done the concert just fine without her.
Yes, the cast was excellent. Their singing and voices were wonderful. There were also beautiful songs not that familiar to Americans. For example, I saw Whistle Down the Wind a few times in London, and while I did not like the story, the music was nice.
To me it was a tremendous treat. However, there was one regret. I wish the performers did not wear visible microphones.
