Movie Review: A comedy classic that stands alone
Summary: 5 Stars
Analyze this is a funny movie, there is little doubt of that. However it is not the premis here that is funny (well it is but there is more to it than that), but what makes this really funny is that Robert DeNiro is spoofing some of his most memorable roles here. Let me explain.Robert DeNiro plays Paul Vito, a head of one of New Yorks most infamouse mobs. One day one of his best friends is murdered in a drive by. From there he decides to track down who it was that called the hit. However in his search he sufferes an emotional breakdown and needs therapy. One of his lackies takes him to Billy Crystal who is very reluctant to treat him. The end result is a very funny movie where DeNiro just won't quite and will do anything to be treated, using of course his powers of persuasion.
Analyze this is a comedy classic, with a funny cast, jokes that are hits, and plenty of humor to pass around, this is a classic for the ages.
Movie Review: Crystal And Deniro ... An Offer You Can't Resist!
Summary: 5 Stars
A complete surprise, ANALYZE THIS hits you from the get go with remarkably funny characters juxtaposed against the grim reality of mob life ... to an extent.Crystal plays a shrink who inadvertantly gets the task of analyzing Deniro, and the results that ensue are hilarious. Several nice cameos add to the pleasure of watching this comedy again and again.
HINT: A sequel, ANALYZE THAT, is presently in the works, with all of the principles set to return in top form.
A word to the wise: Robert De Niro's portion of the commentary track sounds almost phoned in or else he participated with very little interest. While he does have a few tidbits to add, much of the substance comes from Billy Crystal. Also, the commentary track with Harold Ramis is absolutely suburb and serves as a fine example of how directors should place their thoughts and choices into perspective for the true cinema fan.

This is one of De Niro's BETTER films of recent years.
I confess this film isn't the greatest comedy out there, but it certainly one worth noticing. Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro are simply hillarious in this film, and the story is one of the most original ideas for a comedy. The film is about this big time mafia boss, Paul Vitti (Robert DeNiro), that needs therapy for his pschological problems, so he consults local therapist Ed Sobel (Billy Crystal) for help. However, sparks fly when Dr. Sobel soon finds himself surounded by men from rival mafia families and policeman hunting him. Unfortunately, this film does suffer from some cliches, some bad stereo typed characterization, and the dialogue wasn't convincing at times, but it doesn't ruin the film. Overall, this film is good for some laughs that the entire family can enjoy.

This movie's main feature is Robert de Niro's versatility as an actor. He could be asked to do any kind of role, theif, mobster, comedian, etc. and he would do it with abosolute precision and quality.This movie is about a gangster named 'Paul Vitti' which has been played by Robert de Niro who has some problems dealing with the people in HIS world and is under a lot of stress. So, he goes to a psychiatrist 'Dr. Ben Sobol', which is played by Billy Crystal, to get himself analyzed and ask for help to make the anxiety stop.
Its such a hilarious movie that you wouldn't get your eyes off it till the movie is over. And then you would wanna see it again a hundred times.
Both Robert de Niro and Billy Crystal have given outstanding performances and I reckon that this movie is a must-have in anybody's DVD collection.

"Analyze This" is one of the funniest movies ever made! Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal make a great team together here! The picture and the sound quality from the DVD is crisp and clear. Good thing I own that movie. De Niro stars Paul Vitti, a mobster who had panic attacks. He also cries here. That was funny! Billy Crystal is great as Ben Sobol, a family psychiatrist who has to married his love interest, Lisa Kudrow. Chazz Palminteri is amazing playing Primo Sindone, a bad boss who wants Paul Vitti dead. And Joe Viterelli is funny playing Jelly. If you like Robert De Niro or Billy Crystal, I definitely recommend this one! It's hilarious!
