Movie Reviews of An Unfinished Life

Movie Review: Wonderful Film
Summary: 5 Stars

Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman are two of the top actors in the world. It rented the movie because I was intrigued with the idea of those actors working together and they DO WORK MAGIC in this one. Jaylo is also very impressive. Add to that the fact that this one has an extremely talented supporting cast. :) I like what this reviewer said about the film.

"This little movie is really a gem. It's quiet, slow, and gentle, and the actors are wonderful. Redford looks the part of the beaten-up old man consumed by hatred and grief. Lopez is also good, and Freeman gives his usual stellar performance. The mountain setting is breathtaking and serene, and there is a nice subplot involving Freeman and a grizzly bear that is quite touching."

You'll have to see it to believe it. This one is a bute.

Movie Review: A Movie with Class and Great Acting
Summary: 5 Stars

A Western backdrop; a "real life" situation mixed with a taste of Grizzly Adams; and Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, and Jennifer Lopez. If that is not a great start, I do not know what else would be needed. This drama tastefully shows an aging curmudgeon (Robert Redford) coping with the lose of a son and his guilt over the incapacitation of his best friend (Morgan Freeman). The film takes place in the Western region of the country with scenery somewhat reminiscent of Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven. The acting is class A all the way. Redford and Freeman give great performances as always, and Lopez is nothing to scoff at either. This is a well thought through piece of cinematic drama; and the care given to this film is quite evident. This is a well crafted movie that should be enjoyed by all.

Movie Review: Redford and Freeman make a pair...
Summary: 5 Stars

"An Unfinished Life" was an excellent surprise that I watched on satellite for the first time recently. When it was first released, and I saw Jennifer Lopez was starring in it, I immediately dismissed it. Her role is diminished by the other actors involved.

Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman build an on screen performance that is excellent and very worthy to be remembered.

Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman (Along with Clint Eastwood and Paul Newman) might be the last "great" movie stars from a past generation. In this movie they give incredible performances.

Becca Gardner also adds to the film as she "wins over" Redford and Freeman on Redford's ranch.

The filmography is beautiful and memorable.

Movie Review: A Warm, Touching Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, JLo and Bart the Bear perform memorably in this warm, touching movie about a grumpy old man in Wyoming who is suffering from twin demons: guilt he was drunk when his best friend was mauled by a bear, and hate for the woman who killed his son in an auto accident. When that woman (JLo) shows up at his ranch, the man's inclination is to turn her away. But she's brought his grand-daughter, someone he didn't know existed. As Redford's character warms to the little girl, his strength of character and humanity rebuild, and foster heroic achievements by all the characters. This is a warm story, one set in spectacular scenery, and despite the fine performances by the human characters, the bear steals the show.

Movie Review: Good Story
Summary: 5 Stars

Over, the years, we have come to expect good performances from Freeman and Redford. The performances by Lopez and Gardner are also excellent.

What really makes this movie great is the combination of the cast and a great story. And BTW, it is a great visual movie as well.

These days, when there is nothing but violence and computer generated special effects from Hollywood, it is very refreshing and satisfying to see a great story about people and how they deal with pain, love, loss and the challenge of overcoming tragedy to go on living and being good.

That is what this movie is really about.

It should get 5 stars because it is a quality story and fine acting.Period.
