Movie Reviews of American PopMovie Review: Either love it or hate it Summary: 5 Stars
Okay everyone here seems to either love this or hate it. I love it and love the effect of rotoscope. For me it makes animation more personal because all of the movements and expressions seem more familiar. The story line shows a lot of research and knowledge, and it has a very anti-drug message when you see the fates of all who got involved. The success of the guy at the end is for me a hint that his success will eventually fall. The music is awesome and since I saw it the first time I was hooked and every once in a while still like renting it.
Movie Review: review from an AMERICAN punk Summary: 5 Stars
in my opinion this is by far one of Bakshi's best films. ignore all the bad reviews and check it out. all i can say is rent it. everybody complains about the roto-scoping but personally i think that's one of it's greastest assets. oh yeah, in response to the reviewer who said the british created punk rock, maybe you should check your music history 'cuz the ramones created punk rock in america and then brought it to the british inspiring a generation of brits to adopt the punk lifestyle. may joey ramone rest in peace.
Movie Review: Still a classic! Summary: 5 Stars
This movie was released when I was 19. I watched it over and over again. Something hard to do before VCRs or DVDs were popular. I was worried that it would stand the test of time. Well, this evening I showed it to my 18-year-old niece who has a scholarship to the animation track at the Art Institute of San Francisco. I was worried she would find it too dated. She really loved it. And I still enjoyed it too!
Movie Review: A CLASSIC I GREW UP WITH!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this movie on cable TV when I was 11 years old in 1982. Having loved music since I could remember, I was immediately drawn to this film. While the premise of the movie seems a little flimsy at times to some people, you have to ask: Has this ever been done before or since? I think if you give this film a chance you won't be dissapointed. 5 stars all around!!!!!
Movie Review: I use it for my American History Class Summary: 5 Stars
I saw it in 1981 my first year of college.
I like the history in it and the music
I always tell my students "hey everyone you just heard in the video in this segment died of drugs or lost a band member"
It has great real pictures mixed in with the story and it tells an interesting story of a family coming from a pogram in Russia.
