Movie Reviews of Alien ApocalypseMovie Review: Bruce does it again Summary: 3 Stars
For the budget they had to work with, and the fact that they had to dub in most of the actors voices due to the fact that they filmed this movie in another country, this was a very entertaining enslaved human race by insect alien's film.
The key factor was Bruce Campbell pulling off his usual stellar performance, he can pull any movie out of the crapper with his funny sarcasm and dry humor, the best part of this film is listening to the commentary while watching the movie the second time around, very funny and insightful.
If you're a Bruce fan, I say buy this movie, but if you're not a fan, don't bother since it's not able to stand on its own without Bruce's support.
Movie Review: Where's Ellen Ripley When You Need Her? Summary: 3 Stars
Silly me! When I went to the video store, I thought I was picking up the original Alien starring Sigourney Weaver. I didn't notice the word 'Apocaypse' underneath the word 'Alien'. So what I watched was a craptastic movie starring Bruce Campbell, who is also the only good actor in this movie. If it wasn't for Campbell and a few bloody decapitations, this film would be horrible. But at least it does have those things, so it's not horrible.
Movie Review: Even for a Hardcore Bruce Campbell fan, this is a hard pill to swallow Summary: 1 Stars
With alot of Bruce Campbell movies, usually you should know that they are what most people classify as "bad movies" They're low budget and full of cheesiness, but there is something about Bruce that makes you watch him in these movies anyway. I am glad that Bruce has started directing his own movies as well (Man with the Screaming Brain, My name is Bruce)
Alien apocalypse is a movie that Bruce campbell only agreed to do if sci-fi channel would fund his pet project at the time (man with the screaming brain). Even for Bruce, Alien apocalypse is a paycheck film. The movie takes itself too seriously for this low budget of a movie with such a silly plot. It is just missing something. Everything just seems off. Bad writing is part of the problem, but I think that bad direction for the actors probably doesnt help. This movie is just a real mess and it is probably the least enjoyable Bruce Film I've ever seen (yes, even Icebreaker is better and funnier than this one). If you are a REALLY REALLY hardcore bruce campbell fan, then check it out, there are a few classic Bruce moments, but dont expect much. Check out Man with The Screaming Brain: the movie Bruce wrote and produced, then you will understand why Bruce did Alien Apocalypse.
Movie Review: entertainment apocalypse Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this for the obvious reason. I like Bruce Campbell, but this film at best was more of a d movie than a b movie. Obviously made for t.v., more than likely the SciFi channel, it lacks form. I expect cheap effects and weak acting from a B.C. movie, but this film doesn't achieve the levels of his other work. Entertaining idea of alien termites taking over the world, unfortunately the director seemed more concentrated on making it serious than humorous. It was an obvious rip off from Planet of the Apes, men slaves to a lower life form. The best part of the DVD is the cover art, which makes a good wallpaper on my computer.
Movie Review: Bad movie Summary: 1 Stars
I'm a big fan of both Bruce Campbell and Renee Oconnor (having enjoyed both of them in the TV show Xena), but this is a bad, unimaginative movie that is clearly a low budget affair.
