Movie Review: An Historical Gem From the 60s
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is a Thanksgiving classic as well as a unique slice of life from the 60s. For me it provided a timely hint on how to avoid the draft when my number came up and I, too, went to the Group W bench. Hats off to Arlo for at the least providing me with a tool that helped me keep my sorry self out of Viet Nam. Also, it's a very fine film. Especially I recommend it to anyone of any political stripe who would like to gain a fresh perspective on that tumultuous era.Movie Review: Sorry Arlo, I couldn't wait.

Alice's Restaruant has been a Thanksgiving Day tradition in my home now for years including the song. Arlo Guthrie has always been one of my favorite singer/songwriters. It would have been great to hear Arlo and the late Jim Croce (another outstanding artist)from the past jamming together on Jim's front porch. But, anyway this movie is about the life and times of Arlo. A must see film. Thank you Arlo Guthrie for telling your story to the world. My peace be with you!Movie Review: Great Movie

When this movie came out way back when, I must have seen it a dozen times at the movie theatre. Around 10 years ago I finally saw it on VHS and purchased it. Saw it on Amazon in DVD and was thrilled as I'd never seen it out on DVD and the VHS days are pretty much over for most people. I purchased 2 of these - one for me and one for a friend. I watched this movie when it came out in 1969.It sure was not like I remembered it but I do forget some things from that time in my life. The quality of the DVD was great...the service was great and it got here when it was said to arrive...I was pleased with the transaction. ken
