Movie Reviews of Airplane II: The SequelMovie Review: Not as good as the first, but if you liked the first, you may like this one. Summary: 3 Stars
The previous entry said that many scenes were delted, that is not true. The fact is that with these two films, there was too much content that was very adult related and therefore deleted scenes were added for the television version to make the film fit the 1 hour 30 min time slot. This DVD is the theatrical release of the film, however, I do bleieve that there are many deleted scenes for both films that were semi-funny and they should have been included. But we all know how sub par films get their DVD treatment....sub par.
Movie Review: SHATNER SAVES THIS MOVIE Summary: 3 Stars
From going into the toilet as it is almost a total rehash reemake of the original Airplane. He is a welcome breath of fresh air as a guy who knew Striker in the war and Shat now works at (inspiringly) a base in outer space. Best lines in the film are Shat's by far! Ssh! Ssh!
Movie Review: See it for Shatner Summary: 3 Stars
OK, so it's not as funny or slick as the original, but it's still good. There are many. many funny moments, but like everyone says, Shatner really steals the show, he's the numero uno, the big Review: Not Anywhere Near The Original Summary: 2 Stars
Let me start off by saying I loved the first Airplane and consider it to be the best comedy ever. So I'm not a hater of the genre. When I first saw Airplane about two years ago I laughed until I cried. Just days after seeing it I was in an electronic store and saw Airplane 2 on DVD. Assuming it was made by the guys that made the original I bought it, oh how wrong I was. This is nothing but a sad attempt to copy the success of the original. Paramount asked the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams to do the sequel, when they declined saying there's not enough jokes left to do a sequel Paramount just hired some other guy to do it. The result, Airplane 2 crashes and burns.
Movie Review: Meh Summary: 2 Stars
I found myself laughing fewer and farther between than the original. I don't know what it was, maybe the fact that Leslie Nielsen wasn't in this one... maybe the fact that we saw most of the characters in the first one and thus saw very little time spent on development... I'm not sure. I only got three true laughs that lasted longer than 5 seconds: the Jive Brother in the court room, watching the grandma get frisked down at security while the terrorists strolled right in and when Peter Graves asked the kid if he liked it when his dog rubbed up and down his leg. Other than that, it felt like the same thing I already saw rehashed, with a lot less humor.
