If you're curious about Jacques Brel and what the excitement was all about, this video of one of his final concerts is a must. Belgian born Brel, whose life was tragically shortened by cancer, was one of the most intensely engaged singer/songwriters of the 20th century. Some of his works/performances, J'attends Madeleine, for example, transcend category and belong in a highlight reel of best performances of all time. I speak French, but even if you don't, his charisma comes through. This DVD is magic.
