(google it, its pretty funny.) on the technical, the stage is the same as used in the earlier allesandra ferri production and it still looks nice. the lighting is decent. the picture and color reproduction are excellent. i found the editing however, to be mildly atrocious. camera angles on occasion change a bit too quickly, and some of those angles are a bit awkward. also, if close ups in a ballet are your thing, then you wont have a problem. the orchestration is very good and has a delicate hint of italianate in it. overall its not that bad a production and had i seen it before the royal ballets giselle i may have thought better of it. i do recommend it for comparative purposes. for anyone choosing between a this one or that one, the royal ballets giselle with alina cojocoru and johann kobborg is the superior production. i rate this la scalla production 2 1/2 - 3 stars.
