I remeber seeing the promos for the first series and thinking 'not sure if I want to watch Jennifer without Dawn (and what the hell is Joanna Lumley (Purdy and Sapphire) doing in a comedy?
But, like the rest of early 20's Britain, once I saw this I loved it. As a comedy series it was so fresh and insightful and so achingly funny that by the end of series 1 we were all going to Abfab parties.
My favourite line has to be when Eddie and Saff are in the kitchen, with the mum hounding her daughter to do something sexual....
'i mean sweetie, night after night, dry bloody sheets!'
Just genius. I really don't think that we will see anything the like of which ever again.
