Movie Review: silly stuff.
Summary: 3 Stars
This movie deserves two stars for the cruddy, seen it a million times ending, but I must admit I was intrigued up until that point- hence, the 3 stars.Katie Holmes plays "Katie" a stressed out college undergrad. She has a group of "how hip are we?" friends, a spooky ex boyfriend who seems to be haunting her, a sexy cop hot for her, and on the case of the missing boyfriend, and a penchant for staying up way too late in the library working on her thesis (the library is always lit in a straining blue color, and there's a creepy library worker/student who speaks to Katie in mumbled insinuating tones).
The cinematography goes a more than a bit overboard with the hipster camera tricks. I had to look away from the screen during the looong strobe light scene.
I couldn't help wondering what the twist was, I admit to being a sucker when it comes to teen mysteries, but when it was revealed I realized I'd just wasted 98 minutes of my life. Were we, the audience, really supposed to be shocked over the final revelation? What a cop out! (pun intended)
Movie Review: A GOOD SMALL PICTURE

Previous reviews have provided an outline of the film and a variety of opinions. My only comment is that if one takes this film without expectations based on previous work of the production staff or featured players, it will provide entertainment sufficient for the hour and a half or so which watching it consumes. Whatever may be the pretentions which the creators may or may not have possessed, it is a small film, itself unpretentious, and well within the parameters of the genre of small films (often called "B" pictures in the 30's and 40's, more often "made for TV" pictures thereafter)which so often have proved to be sources of pleasure with no deeper meaning for which to probe (or to be disturbed by). What you see is what there is; not, perhaps, Hamlet ( a mystery as you will recall, but a diversion from the heavier things in life. The performers did what there was to do while script and director kept things moving with only a moderate degree of unnecessary repetition of the main story points.Movie Review: I Give this movie a C+, pacing too slow and predictable.

A highly ambitious college student is working on her thesis and appears to be stalked by a boyfriend that has been missing for over 2 years, is your basic plot. Katie Holmes and Benjamin Pratt do a pretty good job acting, they develop their characters well. The problem is in the directing of the movie, it is not very stylish and the pacing is boring (soundtrack maybe?). Their didn't seem to be a flow that works to well and I knew what the twist was alomst after a 1/4 of the movie was finished and it is not all that exciting. (No where near the same quality of a twist you get from watching 'Fight Club', one of the best twisted plot movies ever made.) Wait till cable, do not waste money on a movie that is only watchable once. Not terrible, just nothing special.Movie Review: it's an ok thriller.

well abandon is an ok thriller, that does play with your mind.but it lacked something although i was bit creeped out after i saw .katie holmes was good in her role, believeable but not if know what i mean she just need some more season , she is quite lovely as leading lady not bad for somebody that came off the wb . A Warning to people who have seizures you might want to avoid this one there's a scene in the film that has lights flashing fast like stobe lights just thought i should warn you, but if your not affected by that then nevermind.

this is not a teen movie. kakie gives agreat departing peformance from joey potter. there is a great twist, and a red herring. benjamin bratt also gave a great performance. there are parts that could have been deleted, like the freind who seems to be more anoying then her value as a freind (zooey deschanel)the boyfreind also was badly casted. the ending is what makes this movie good
