Movie Reviews of AC/DC - Live at Donington

Movie Review: Hardcore
Summary: 5 Stars

No matter how many times you watch this DVD, it never gets old. I am a huge AC/DC fan, and my stamp of approval goes out to this DVD. I only wish that I had been there at the Donnington Castle when this concert actually happened. The concert has a great lineup. However, I was very upset to hear the band's version of "The Jack" from when Brian Johnson was the singer instead of Bon Scott's version. This is mostly due to the fact that I had never heard the newer version, and was quite suprised when all the words I was singing didn't match that of the DVD's at all. Not only is the main attraction great, but the extras include many features. For example, Angus and Malcolm have their own commentaries for EVERY album ever put together. Well, all I can say is BUY THIS DVD. I'm off to go watch it again.

Movie Review: Good Lord this DVD is amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a dedicated AC/DC, and let me tell you, this by far AC/DC's best DVD concert. The song list is awesome, because you get some songs you dont usually hear, like High Voltage being sung by Brian Johnson, and a sweet little solo being followed by Jailbreak. The DVD is amazing quality, the song quality is awesome, especially on surround sound on a big screen or plasma screen tv, or you everday tv, it feels like you were in Donington rockin' right next to Angus. I also love the interviews with the band members, and the spotlight songs on Angus, Cliff, Brian, Malcolm and Chris. Do yourself the favor, if you haven't already, and by this AC/DC Concert DVD, this DVD is in my personal favorite collection.

Rock on, and Ride on.

Movie Review: Superb in every way
Summary: 5 Stars

No need to repeat all the superlatives others have used. This is an amazing concert video.

On the overdub/cleaned-up issue -- I don't think so. I'm no sound engineer, but I've recorded in studios and live and sat next to engineers when they do their work, and I'd say that every sound on this DVD came right from the signals/tracks that were fed into the live board. The sound quality is consistent throughout, esp. on Angus's famed Gibson SG. The sound is the real thing: raw, unfiltered, and with phenomenal power. Take great musicianship on great intruments, add top-of-the-line preamps, effects and mics, and this is what you get: bloody marvelous.

And Angus Young's coy striptease -- with the crowd adding its own barroom chant -- is brilliant.

Movie Review: WOW!!! what a concert!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Ive been a huge fan of AC/DC for many years now and i have both dvds Stiff Upper Lip Live and No Bull, but i have to say this is by far the best in sound quality picture/ type of film used and the band in general. Angus is at his best.. he never misses a note except in one instance when the sound on his guitar flickers on and off for a few seconds in let there be rock.. but all around the band is great. The set list is great. The four tracks that stand out are Thunderstruck, Back in Black, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Highway to Hell . The bonus features are great also . especially if youre a big fan. All around its a great buy i suggest you buy all three of the dvds they all have something good about each of them. Buy This dvd now!

Movie Review: One hell of a concert!
Summary: 5 Stars

AC/DC's live at Donnington was one hell of a concert. man oh man do I wish I was there for that show. The band is top notch and in perfect form. All the songs are performed flawlessly. I swear AC/DC is the second greatest live band of all time. (second only to Aerosmith of course). This is truly an awesome show. The song selection is awsome, with the best of Bon Scotts era and Brian Johnsons era up untill 1990 of course. When you watch this make sure you watch the whole scene for 'Jailbreak' because if you didnt know before you will know afterwards why Angus Young is without a shadow of a doubt one of the very best guitar players that ever lived! Highly recomended!
