Summary: 5 Stars After watching this never before released (in The U.S.) AC/DC concert from Castle Donington, I was amazed at the sound quality of this dvd. But after watching it several times and watching Angus Young's fingers doing his fancy fretwork, I sadly realized that parts of this concert have been doctored. That's the reason for the excellent sound, alot of overdubs. On certain songs it's obvious Anguses guitar riffs have been tampered with and cleaned up. His fingers don't match what he's playing on a number of songs. Nonetheless, it all sounds great, but was it really necessary? Possibly the original concert tapes were of inferior quality and this was part of the reason for the "cleaning up" as so to speak. The concert itself is amazing with Angus running back and forth doing his famous goosewalk as he strums his Gibson SG Standard guitar. The energy level certainly never lets up and the entire band sounds great. Singer Brian Johnson's voice fits well with even the earlier AC/DC Bonn Scott material such as "Jailbreak", "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be", "Highway To Hell", "The Jack", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", etc. Since this concert was filmed in 1991 AC/DC include a few of their songs from the new (at the time) "Razor's Edge" album such as "Thunderstruck", and "Fire Your Guns". There are the usual songs such as "Back In Black", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Hells Bells", "Shoot To Thrill" all from their 1980 "Back In Black" album as well as a few from other albums such as "Heatseeker" and the anthem "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)". The picture quality is also excellent on this dvd which by the way is two hours long. There's also a colorful booklet included with the dvd which includes AC/DC's 1991 "Razor's Edge" tour dates as well as information about the Castle Donington concert. I would recommend this dvd to all AC/DC fans as well as heavy metal rock lovers worldwide.

Movie Review: A must for every AC/DC fan
Summary: 5 Stars

This DVD is absolutely electrifying. I love it. The songs on it are some of their best, Brian's voice is actually very good, pleasant to listen to, not nearly as shot as the Stiff Upper Lip DVD. The gig starts out with one of everyone's favorites, "Thunderstruck", and ends with one of their most powerful rock messages, "For Those about to Rock, We Salute You". Angus still has long hair that goes all over his face when he headbangs! It is truly amazing how much energy Angus has, hes a fairly old guy, but hes never too tired or too sweaty to do his fast-paced "duckwalk". Well, what do you expect from the greatest rock band of all time? These guys rule, they dont get into trends or fashions, they dont care what kind of music is popular, they do their own thing, and dont give a damn what anyone else thinks. One of the highlights of the DVD for me is "Jailbreak" where Angus goes through around 10 miniutes, if not more, of guitar solos, running, and headbanging. The only setback for me, and this is just a personal opinion, is that Chris Slade is the drummer for this concert. I prefer Phil Rudd's classic drum beat, and he's a lot cooler than Chris, no offense Slade. No other band rocks harder onstage than AC/DC, and thats a fact. You will want to watch this concert over and over again, this really is a good one, and its longer than the Stiff Upper Lip concert. There is also a commentary from Angus and Malcolm version of the concert, where you watch the concert while listening to Angus and Mal explain it all to you, which is a pretty cool feature. I cant seem to notice any "voice" on the DVD version that a previous reviewer talked about. The only voice i hear is Brian's, if you can tell what clock time this "voice" comes up then itd be cool. Not much more to say, great concert, great buy, great band. Keep on rockin.

Movie Review: HIGH VOLTAGE ROCK & ROLL
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great concert showcasing AC/DC at there best with Brian Johnson. This dvd shows how at the beggining of the grunge movement AC/DC still had what it took and showed those little whinners what hard rock was all about.Filmed during their huge and succesfull RAZORS EDGE tour at CASTLE DONNINGTON for the MONSTERS OF ROCK FESTIVAL.though this was AC/DCs' third apperance it was a most exellent show.Starting of with their hit single THUNDERSTRUCK accompanide by the crowds monsterous chants "THUNDER".Fallowed by two classics of the BACK IN BLACK album SHOOT TO THRIL and BACK IN BLACK.Then the pull one out of the Bon era HELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE a personall favorie wich includes a giant devil on stage. Then the break into HEATSEEKER and FIRE YOUR GUNS.THEN they pull out a rare one JAILBREAK this performace is awsome with Angus' strip tease in the middle fallowed by the classic sing along THE JACK and then DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP.
AC/DC brings out another single off their RAZORS EDGE album MONEYTALKS along with angus dollars fallowed by the amazing HELLS BELLS along with HIGH VOLTAGE wich leads into WHOLE LATTA ROSIE accompanied by the crowds revenous chants "ANGUS" along with their giant infladeble rosie. Then two concert staples the fan favorite YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG along with TNT.Then the break into an extended LET THERE BE ROCK.THEY ARENT THROUGH YET they come back for an encore wich is HIGHWAY TO HELL.and what would an AC/DC concert be without the cannons FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK is the closing song on this awsome dvd. This is a great dvd urge anyone who likes rock to buy it.
plus the extras are cool on this one it includes a discography along with interviews.

Movie Review: Live at Donington THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE FROM ANY BAND EVER
Summary: 5 Stars

All of the songs on this DVD sound efing awesome. The version of Let there be rock along with a whole lotta rossie in this concert would have to be the best that I have ever heard them and that goes for any live version or studio version of these songs. The only thing missing is Bons voice. I think that if you could somehow remove Brians voice from these two songs and replace it with Bons voice from the IF YOU WANT BLOOD LIVE album you would have the greatest ever version of these two songs.
Brians voices was at his near best during this performance, Although sometimes you can hear his voice break and loose a bit of power. But still not even worth complaining about. I give him 5 stars for his performance.
Angus put on a great performance, but he's not as agile as what he was in the 70's. If you want to see angus at his absolute best buy or hire a copy of the LET THERE BE ROCK DVD. This is Angus at his craziest, he goes absolutly spastic in this performance , just unbelievable. Its Angus like you'v never seen him before.
But still 5 stars for his perfomance in this vid.
I thought the rythim guitar lacked a bit of volume. At times it was overpowered by angus's guitar especially when he plaid a solo. During a solo I think the base stood out more than the rythim . So a about 30% more volume from Malcoms guitar would have been good.
I would have to say that this perfomance is mind blowing, so I rate this DVD 5 stars. One of the greatest live perfomances from any band ever.
