Movie Reviews of ABBA The MovieMovie Review: fun rock film Summary: 5 Stars
A thought came to me that if I were to put on a very limited showing of rock/pop films it might include The Beatles' Hard Day's Night, The Band's Last Waltz, then I thought why not this one to help encapsulate the feeling of the late 1970s. Filmed fantastically by Hallstrom (a major motion picture director ever since), with split screens and the whole thing, puts the viewer into the middle of the frenzy, the huge concerts, touring/meet-and-greet schedule, maniacal fans, etc. The concert footage is terrific, sound is excellent, plus the small handful of Australian actors are very memorable. I come across rock history buffs and musicians who still don't get the whole ABBA thing (this is coming from a guy who also listens to Sonic Youth, by the way), but perhaps this film will do it. Glad to see this on DVD - have been waiting a long time.
Movie Review: Abba the Movie: A cool movie and Agnetha super HOT, he he Summary: 5 Stars
Hi everybody:
I finally got the movie from Amazon.ca. The movie is cool but not whole songs except dancing queen. But I like it. Universal should release a FULL concert and not incomplete songs.
I had to pay $24 something american dollars to get it on amazon.ca
Well everyone enjoy the movie and dont wait for the release in USA because its unsure when it will be released there if it is ever release there.
Agnetha is so GORGEOUS , so perfect in all aspects, I love you Anna, muackkkkkk.

Movie Review: 30 years on and STILL one of my all time favorite films Summary: 5 Stars
My friend and I were 13 yrs old when we went to the cinema to see this film. We sang and danced our way through it from start to end. I still remember that day vividly, and I'm 41 now. I went on to buy it on video when it was released and I still watch it, and still can't help myself by singing along. It's one of those films with the ultimate feel good factor. No swearing, no violence, no sex, just pure unadulterated fun. I'm DEFINITLY going to be buying this when it comes out on DVD so I can carry on enjoying this film into my old age.
Movie Review: ABBA The Movie Summary: 5 Stars
Carl Magnus Palm sheds some light in the booklet accompanying the DVD. ABBA played 11 concerts in Australia. Director Lasse Hallstrom wanted the plot featuring actor Robert Hughes as DJ Ashley Wallace. I would have settled for concert footage. The rain was during the first concert at the Sydney Showground. Water leaked into canisters and destroyed some of Hallstrom's work. Swedish street signs reveal that the final scenes were shot in Stockholm.
Movie Review: ABBA lives on... Summary: 5 Stars
When I was 12 years old, my dad took me to see ABBA-THE MOVIE at the movies. I rememebr how exciting it was to see my favorite pop group live on screen and I still carry these memories with me today as an adult... 26 years later, the movie still holds its magic and captures the phenomenon of the Swedish pop stars in their high days. This is more of a documentary than a live show movie. It's campy and it's a lot of fun!
