Movie Reviews of A Year in Provence

Movie Review: great vacation for your brain
Summary: 5 Stars

I had seen parts of "A Year inProvence" when it was on A&E origianlly (many years ago). And I had really enjoyed what I had seen, but I never thought I would be able to see the whole series.

I purchased the DVD's and got to see the entire show. I loved it. If you just enjoy pure entertainment with a touch of French culture, language, food, etc. thrown in, I think anyone would really enjoy it too.

Movie Review: Provencal Pleasures
Summary: 5 Stars

First class production. Lovely adaptation of Peter Mayle's book.

This is a must have for all Brit Serial aficionados.

You will envy Peter and Annie for having taken such a decision - drop everything, career, progression etc to go away to France and live a life of idyllic relaxation.

I loved this as indeed I love all Peter Mayle's books!

Highly recommended!

Movie Review: A Year in Provence DVD
Summary: 5 Stars

I live in Australia and have been trying for years to obtain first the video and now the DVD. I have read the book many times and all of Peter Mayle's books.
I was thrilled to get this and my husband and I said we will watch one episode a week. We finished it over the weekend!
It is wonderful. A feel good story.
We are now starting it again and will do the one episode a week!!

Movie Review: Excellent, humorous tale of southern France
Summary: 5 Stars

Our friends who had lived in France recommended this DVD. And they were right - my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Although French is spoken, the action and the English actors convey the information to the audience. We prefer this approach of using French actors speaking French since the story of this English couple who have moved to France is more realistically presented.

Movie Review: A VIDEO VACATION

WATCHING THIS FILM WAS ONE OF THE MOST PLEASANT EXPERIENCES I HAVE
HAD IN A LONG TIME. THE FACT THAT I UNDERSTOOD SOME FRENCH,DID
HELP ALOT,BUT EVEN WITHOUT THAT KNOWLEDGE,THE MOVIE TAKES YOU INTO
A PART OF FRANCE THAT MOST AMERICANS NEVER ENVISION.WOULD LOVE TO
SEE A PART 2 VERSION ,WITH THE SAME ACTORS.
