Movie Reviews of A Talking PictureMovie Review: Horrifying: a movie of talking heads Summary: 1 Stars
Oh my god, this is the most horrible movie I have ever seen; I would have never imagined that such a bad production could ever be possible. Maybe slightly appropriate to show as didactic nonsense in a primary school. The whole plot is a preposterous trip, supposedly from Portugal to Bombay with touristic stops at various Mediterranean cities, the mother and the daughter having incredibly long and boring conversations about ancient and medieval sites. The didactic spiel itself is badly written, full of glaring historical cliches and mind-numbingly incorrect information, frequently bordering in neo-colonialism. The cinematography is equally a disaster, I can't even begin to describe it. The worst is the endless table conversation between the captain and his "famous" guests, so astonishingly stupid in content and visuality that one can't stop laughing. The scenes of boat departing from a port, waving passengers, boat seen in distance, boat prow moving through waves are repeated so many times with the exact same plan that it settles itself in your mind as a visual nightmare. It is scandalous to present this film seriously for viewing. Appalling!
