Movie Review: Great family film
Summary: 5 Stars
In this day and age where movies use bad grammar and as much foul language as possible, not to mention the sexual inunendos and explicit sex scenes, this movie is truly a treasure. It shows the love that the Marshalls had for each other (without having to see everything that happens between a man and his wife) and sends a powerful message that God is truly in control; no matter what happens in our lives. Masculine but gentle...Fun but also reverent..Assertive but a good listener...Dedicated without being a fanatic..Romantic but not maudlin..Patriotic but not nationalistic..A Dreamer but also very realistic..
If I could put any film in the hands of all teenagers, this would be the one..

(Review by James's wife Caroline:) This movie influenced me as a child, when I soaked in Catherine's speech about what it means to be a woman. And every time I see it, I learn something else from the lives of Peter and Catherine Marshall. Their story is part of our history as Americans, and as people who want to follow God wherever He leads us. Here's one I would recommend to anyone.
I'm so glad it's now on DVD!

A Man Called Peter is a really good movie, the only thing is my wife and myself had to watch it on the computer. The reason benign is it will not play for this region, which is region 4.
I sent an e-mail asking this question before I purchase the book and the DVD and I was told it will play here in Australia
Parts from this little drawback I still give it five stars.

Too little is written or "movied" these days about real heroes--men of faith, commitment, integrity, strength of character, and perseverance. Peter Marshall was one of these. Take time to watch this movie, then read the text of the actual sermons this man preached to a wartime and post-war America. His preaching is as relevant today as it was then. America needs more Peter Marshalls today.
