Movie Reviews of A Little RomanceMovie Review: A Little Romance Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent movie which demonstrates the kind of real quality that can exist in the early romantic relationships children have. This movie is devoid of all the offensive stuff that now permeates all typical hollywood movies which attempt to depict such relationships. No one is being abused and no one is being manipulated. It simply shows how a 13 year old boy and a 13 year old girl can really care for each other. WHAT A CHANGE!!
Movie Review: Appealing and Delightful Summary: 5 Stars
The Bottom Line:
The filmmakers of A Little Romance cheat a little by making the young leads preternatural geniuses so they can talk like adults instead of actual children, but the conceit hardly makes the film any less enjoyable and cute; a romance that avoids cliche in favor of sweet moments between appealing leads, A Little Romance is fun the whole way through.
3.5/4
Movie Review: Bingo! Summary: 5 Stars
Just a beautiful movie. Every scene is its own little masterpiece. I have tried, via the useful technology of DVD, to catch only a scene or two over morning coffee. Twice now, I have ended up watching the rest of the movie. If you are uncomfortable getting misty-eyed in front of others, watch this movie alone. There are few works that I can think of that are as thrilling as this movie.
Movie Review: awesome! Summary: 5 Stars
Don't miss this movie. I fell in love with this film in the early 80's when they ran it on cable and I've been waiting anxiously for it to be released on DVD. This one is in my list of best movies of all time. Diane Lane and Thelonious Bernard are brilliant and as always, Lawrence Olivier is not to be missed.
Movie Review: A Little Romance Summary: 5 Stars
I first saw this movie after I returned from a trip to Europe with 3 girlfriends in our mid-twenties.
It is just a fun movie!
My 19 yr old daughter and I watched it together and really enjoyed it. She knows Bogie & Bacall and was amazed to see the young Diane Lane. We are both Lane fans.
