Movie Review: Another enjoyable Christmas flick, starring the Flintstones!
Summary: 5 Stars
There are so many films and animated shorts that can be seen during this time of year. Miracle on 34th Street, Home Alone, The Snowman, Scrooged, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation are just a few examples. Yes, basically anyone can enjoy at least one of these Christmas films, and those who love The Flintstones would love this one. A Flintstones Christmas Carol is more of a play-within-a-movie. Fred is set to play Ebenezer Scrooge for the Bedrock Community Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol." He becomes fully committed in rehearsing the play, so much that he starts to isolate himself from those who are close to him, especially Wilma and Barney. And if you think that's terrible, Fred even forgets to buy presents for his loved ones. Now THAT'S painful! Don't think that this special has a very depressing ending, because during the performance of the play . . . well, I won't really spoil it for you. I will tell you, though, that while this isn't really one of the greatest, it certainly isn't really bad, either. The script does get kind of clever sometimes, and the jokes are quite funny. But most of all, it reminds you of what the holidays are all about: love, friendship, and family. I'd fully recommend it to those who are fans of the Flintstones, and for those who want to add yet another Christmas special to their "must-watch" list.

There's just one shopping day until Christmas! Fred is so wrapped up in his acting debut as Scrooge in the Bedrock production of "A Christmas Carol" that he's completely forgotten to buy any gifts. And worse, he's left baby Pebbles stranded at Cave Care Center! But wife Wilma and a few familiar ghosts perform a true Christmas miracle, helping hubby Fred remember the true meaning of the season. Join Barney, Betty, Bam Bam, and Dino in this hilarious stone-age version of the magical holiday classic.Baste the turkeysaurus and head over to Bloomingshale's for some last-minute shopping; it's Christmastime in Bedrock. Fred and the gang have more than the usual festive preparations up their prehistoric sleeves, however, as they are staging a production of "The Christmas Carol" with Fred in the role of Scrooge. Things take a frightening turn when--in the classic tradition of method acting--Fred takes his role to heart and becomes a bit humbuggish himself. So preoccupied with his role is he, that he forgets to pick up Pebbles from day care, leaves Christmas shopping off his list of things to do, and belittles the parts played by his friends (such as Barney as Bob Cratchit). When the Bedrock bug (a flu virus) begins to fell cast members, it provides the ideal opportunity for costume maker and stage manager Wilma to take on understudy duties and scare some sense into her self-absorbed husband.
