Movie Review: Mhmm
Summary: 5 Stars
This is one fo my favorite movies ever. I saw this movie for the first time when I was seven. My brother and I used to rent it about once a month growing up. It's honestly, Reese Witherspoon's best and most honest character role besides in Cruel Intentions. This movie shows the real heart of two kids faced with hardship and struggle and their amazing journey across the Kalahari. Nowadays, I catch it every time it's on cable. I remembered watching this movie a long time ago as a kid, which is why I decided to buy it, so many years later.
Long story short, the movie is just as good as I remembered it to be. While the story is cliche at times, and simplistic in some ways, the character interactions is what makes this film shine.
It also gives you a glimpse of a young Reese Whiterspoon, and you can clearly see her developing talent.

This is the first movie I can remember seeing Reese in. I have loved it and her ever since. This movie made me fall in love with Africa. This is a great family film to watch but does have some sad parts so if having little kids watch it be ready if tears happen, or even if you are an adult you might shed a tear or two. I love this movie! I first saw it when I was a freshman in High School, and I now use it to teach a geography lesson on the Kalahari for my eighth graders. They love it, too. One of my favorite comments from them was "I can't believe we are all hooked on a Disney Movie!" This came from a boy no less!Movie Review: Great movie

All three of my kids age 5,9,13 love this movie. We've watched rentals and tv runs for years and finally decided to purchase it. A great early Reese Witherspoon movie that shows how determination, humor and friends can help you do the near impossible. There is some violence but tastefully done.
