Movie Reviews of A Christmas MemoryMovie Review: A Christmas Memory Summary: 5 Stars
Just loved it. Seen it on tv before. I's nice to watch around Christmas time.
Movie Review: Not as good as the first, but worth a place in the collection Summary: 4 Stars
The story by Truman Capote is a holiday classic with my family. Having grown up in the black and white era of television, we watched the debut (1966) of the original. Mr. Capote's narration, along with only those great actors needed for the story, makes for a great film. I was able to find the original on VHS many (many!) years ago. I gave one to my parents; and we treat it gingerly, playing it once a year at Christmas. This new version is not as good as the original with Geraldine Page, but this newer version has very good performances by great actors.
Movie Review: An enjoyable holiday movie. Summary: 4 Stars
This version of "A Christmas Memory" takes a few liberties with the Capote text and is definitely a second to the original version starring Geraldine Page. However, the performances of the various principals in this version, especially of Eric Lloyd, are endearing and are thoroughly convincingA Christmas Memory.
Movie Review: A Christmas Memory Summary: 4 Stars
A beutiful story about the relationship between a little boy and his adult friend. It portrays what love is all about. I especially like to read or see Christmas movies at Christmas time as I prepare for the celebration of Christmas with the true Christmas spirit. It helps me renew this spirit each year.
Movie Review: Great movie, just sentimental enough for the holidays Summary: 4 Stars
I have always liked this story and finally just bought it rather than wait for it to show up randomly on TV. It is a staple for Christmas, along with Alistair Sym's A Christmas Carol. Most of the Truman Capote short stories that have been adapted for TV have been well cast and thoroughly enjoyable.
