Movie Reviews of A Chorus LineMovie Review: never sounded better on DVD Summary: 5 Stars
Ignore the negativity above. The Marvin Hamlisch songs, Ralph Burns orchestrations, cast performances, underscore, even the early 1980's vintage synthesizers used occasionally etc. are stunning going on 20 years later. It was definitely time to replace the old worn out VHS tape with the DVD. Well worth the price. Nice interview with Marvin Hamlisch at the end.
Movie Review: Fantastic, if you like musicals Summary: 5 Stars
I'm NOT a big fan of musicals. There are only a few of them that I really like, and this is one of them. The singing is great, the dancing is great, and the acting is even pretty good. Great music, and a look into the hopeful minds of young Broadway wannabes. Worth a good look, even if, like me, you don't really love musicals.
Movie Review: A Chorus Line Summary: 5 Stars
Richard Attenborough had a difficult task in making a film of a stage production which is so closely linked to a single theatre set. His success is shown by the way this film holds ones interest and possibly sets a standard of dancing to which future productions will be judged. Great musical score, brilliant interpretation.
