Movie Review: Real Life of Lillo Brancato has Turned Tragic
Summary: 5 Stars

I am writing this long overdue review shortly after the real life arrest of Lillo Brancato in the connection of a murder of a New York City police officer. He played the young man in this splendid movie which deserves to be seen by everybody. It is a beautifully written and acted production. Brancato portrayed so accurately the challenges of a young Italian-America youth being raised among the gangsters in his blue collar community. I always wondered why he virtually disappeared. Brancato's small role playing a cheap gangster on "The Sopranos" didn't even begin to equal what had earlier been expected of him.

Robert Di Niro is fantastic as the father, a proud bus driver, trying to make sure his only son remains a law abiding citizen. Chazz Palminteri is likewise brilliant playing the role of the neighborhood Mafia chieftain. He also wrote the spellbinding script. "A Bronx Tale" apparently was only modestly successful. I simply cannot understand why it isn't considered as one of the very best movies of that time period. This is a family movie. Anyone who is a teenager or older should enjoy it immensely. You truly feel like you are visiting the 1960s. It is a warm and loving story about choices that must be made early in one's life. Lastly, why hasn't Di Niro directed more films? You would think that this particular work of art might encourage the great actor to work more often behind the camera.

Movie Review: Daniel's Review
Summary: 5 Stars

A Bronx Tale is a story of Chazz Palmentari's life as a kid in the Bronx. 9 year old Cologerlo lives in an apartment. He rides the bus route with his farther every day. He usually sits on his stoop with his 2 best friends Slick and Mario. Even though he loves talking with his friends he also loves trying to imitate Sunny (Chazz Palmentari). Sunny is a local gang member that hangs out at the bar 2 doors down. Even though Cologerlo always imitated him Sunny never looked at him, until one day. Cologerlo was sitting on his stoop when 2 cars pull-up to the same parking space. They start to exchange angry words when one guy gets out of the car and starts beating him with a baseball bat, until Sunny shoots him dead. Cologerlo witness everything. His farther takes him upstairs and quicker than you can say uh the police where at his door. The police knew he saw everything so they take him downstairs outside. The whole neighbor is watching. There are 7 men lined up on the corner. The police man asks did this guy do it and he says no. They through the list, but when they get to Sunny the church bells rings. The police man asks did he do it. Cologerlo looks at his father then at sunny, and then says no. After that Cologerlo life changes. He starts to get respect and all because of Sunny.

Movie Review: I Love This Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter and I watch A Bronx Tale at least twice a week. I have loved this movie every since I first saw it on AMC. Chazz Palaminteri and Robert De Niro both did great jobs, as well as all of the other actors. Robert De Niro plays a bus driver named Lorenzo Anello. He and his wife Rosini and their nine year-old son, Calogero are living in the bronx. Calogero is fascinated by mobster, Sonny, who is a fixture in their neighborhood. Lorenzo is trying to keep his son away from people like Sonny, but the young boy ignores his dad and befriends Sonny. Calogero witnesses Sonny doing something that he refuses to admit to the police. A bond is thereby created between the young boy and the mobster.
I like how Sonny teaches his young friend, Calogero, who he gives the nick-name of "C" to not try and live the same life that he is living. He tells him to stay in school, stay away from bad company, and know who your real friends are. Calogero loves his father, who is also teaching him to be respectful and hardworking, but he also looks up to Sonny, and picks up a lot of "street smarts" along the way.

Movie Review: Great Touching Film
Summary: 5 Stars

Robert De Niro's directorial debut is a great movie and very under rated. The man has proved himself a genius in the acting field and in this film shows his talent in film making.
Great cast and awesome soundtrack.
A touching story showing life in the bronx from both the point of view of the working man and from that of the criminals who live the good life.
The story deals with the issues of the honest life vs the criminal world and gives an insight into the rough world of the Bronx in an era when it was cut off from most of New York.
Chazz Palminteri gives a wonderful portrayal of Mob boss Sonny, both likeable and at times chilling. You find yourself caught between liking him and fearing him and this aspect comes into the story which involves the son of a working class man befriending a mob boss and being torn between the worlds of his two role models.
The sub plot involves love between races and the tension between the African and the Italian Bronxites.
A fine movie which makes my top films of all time.

Movie Review: Best Damm Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

A Bronx Tale produced n directed by Robert Deniro n Chazz Palmenteri <--Cant spell is such an original movie and I personally will never get tired of watching it. "Sonny" played by Chazz Palmenteri portrays the "bad guy" who ran the neighborhood and everyone feared him, but deep down i think he really did care, and i think he really wanted a son thats why he took a liking to "Calergero" "Lorenzo's son. The whole plot of the movie takes place after Calergero witnesses Sonny shoot a man and he didnt rat on him so sonny was grateful and teaches him everything he knows and wants him to be smart and not do what he does. He treats "C" like his own son and i think thats one of the reasons Lorenzo and Sonny didnt get along. I Love a man in power and it sucks what happens in the end cuz i would love to see a sequel to this movie,"Wasted Talent" Excellent directing and producing! The best actors to fit the parts! Chazz Palmenteri is such a great actor! I am such a Fan! Cool Beans! =)
