Movie Review: Poor production values and unpolished presentation make it hard to watch

I am a relatively new (1yr) licensed massage therapist and I started to get videos to learn and improve my practice. This is one of the first videos I ever bought coming out of school.
One plus I do give for this video is the eagerness of the host to share his knowledge and all the moves that he knows.
But from there the problems for this video pile on. The teacher is eager, but throughout the video its as if the techniques for the different body areas were made up on the spot, lacking flow and focused purpose beyond showing a "move". He would also occasionally add a description why a move is useful to a muscle but due to the unscripted nature of his presentation it would be somewhat vague. So a new massage student might not fully understand why a move is being done while an experienced practitioner would not pull any new information out of it. And some of the moves might be visually interesting, but true massage therapy is about bringing about an effect not making fancy patterns on the creme on someones body.
In an age of digital video, the entire DVD is shot as if on VHS tape inside a basement and the poor audio over the unscripted massage makes the instruction even harder to follow. One sequence even has our massage nerd looking at a large TV as a video out to see how the move is coming out on camera. And granted I dont need a pretty body to make my dvd worth watching but having a tatooed practice client is somewhat distracting.
Save your money and invest in quality massage videos like the Realbodywork video collection offered on Amazon. Im not going to lie and say they arent cheap, but the information offered on them and how they are presented make them warrant repeat viewings...
