Movie Review: Different Than your normal vampire movies

I was really suprised with this movie. I went in expecting a halfway decent movie only to come out of the movie theater loving this movie. This movie breaks the norm of almost all vampire movies. The Vampires in this movie are smart but are more animalistic than human. The fact that it take place in a town in Alaska where it is night for 30 days really works for this movie and makes different than most vampire movies out there.I will warn you there are some disturbing scenes in this movie especially one involving a little vampire girl.
I can see why some people would not like this movie since it does break from the norm of the lore of vampres mythology. So rent it and see if you like it. You either love it or hate it just do yourself a favor and give it a chance. You might be suprised

all right! looky her twerps. This movie is bad azz. im a lover of many didfferent vampire movies. from the lush visual beauty of bram stoker's dracula to the 80's classic fright night. i went into this movie thinking it would suck and it blew me away. its original, is suspenseful ( i could imagine being stalked by the vampires), and its gorey as hell. what more could you want. yes , they are mysterious. thy look like germans from the 1940's and they have the rage of a conservation camp ss soldier. they speak some germanesque language. if you love gore and good original suspense than you will like this. their killings are brutal. they are not sucking.....cough.... like tom cruise in interview. these dudes will tear the crap out of you like a true killer. word!!!Movie Review: Best Creepy Vampire flick, and original too!

I am not a Vampire fan. I am more of a Zombie fan. This is like watching a really good Zombie film. The idea of the film is great, with darkness falling for days. A premiss for a great Vampire movie. To me it worked great. The Vampire Zombie Peeps are really creepy, and just because Josh is in the movie doesn't mean it's going to be a Feel-good Vampire movie. He was actually really good in this. If Keaneu Reeves had done it, it would have been a dreadful pile of steaming crap... You must see this movie if you like Vampire/Zombie horror.
It's what a Vampire movie should be like. Not like all the pop-culture crap out there these days.

I read the GRAPHIC NOVEL about two years ago and I saw the movie about a week after it`s release. The movie is TRUE to the novel, LOTS OF BLOOD and GUTS!!!! To the people leaving reviews saying the movie is too gorey, the movies is based on a GRAPHIC NOVEL, GRAPHIC YOU GET IT?? Don`t [...] about the movie unless you have read the GRAPHIC novel. The vampires in the novels are GOREY THROAT RIPPING MONSTERS!!!! AND THAT IS HOW THEY ARE IN THE MOVIE!!!Nothing ROMANTIC about these vampires. If you liked the novels 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, RETURN TO BARROW AND ETC... YOU`LL LIKE THE MOVIE and vice versa....Movie Review: Best vampire movie in a very long time

This is the best vampire movie I've seen in a very long time. The vampires are actually very smart, somewhat scary, and hard to kill, as opposed to the usual stupid, mindless idiots that can easily be beaten into submission by teenage girls like Buffy. The movie is actually more about how the remaining residents of the town have to work together in order to survive. In my opinion, one of the best parts of the movie is a quote by the lead vampire: "Burn the town, destroy everything. We've worked for centuries to make humans believe that we are only a bad dream."
