Movie Review: Diamond in the rough

One of my all time favorite films. This movie is the best kept secret around. I am not one to rave about movies unless they can spark my emotions. Either make me scared, laugh , cry or cheer. 29th street has the last 3 of these in abondance What an fantastic film. The real icing on the cake is that its based on a true story where one of the actors IS really the person who this all happened to! Everyone I show this to never heard of it and then thank me for sharing it with them. Impossible to find, but if you locate it....buy it regardless of the price!!! I stumbled across this movie on video years ago and it became one of my favorites, but I thought I was the only one who had ever heard of it! For such a good movie, none of my friends knew anything about it. Glad to see so many positive reviews from others. This is one of those movies that you'll list among your personal favorites...the type you can pop into the DVD player whenever you want to see a heartwarming story with a sappy-happy ending. I recently lost my video copy and was glad to see it's available on DVD!Movie Review: Great Movie ... They're Right - Goodfellas and It's a Wonderful Life.

I've had the VHS version since 1992, Full Screen - Closed Caption.
I just purchased the DVD, Wide Screen - Closed Caption BUT
I can't seen to get the captions to display.
I've tried 3 different players and TV's.
Yes, I have everything turned on, other DVDs work fine.
Could I just have a bad DVD or are others having the same problem?

How many 5 star ratings can this film get? That depends on how many people see it. It just pulls you in to the story and takes you along for a supurb ride. It is based on a true story. That just goes to show you that truth is sometimes better than fiction.
The stars in the film do a great job bringing the story to life.
If you never have seen the movie, rent "29 Street" and I be willing to bet that you would be buying it soon after.
Movie Review: Humorous, Intense, Beautiful

One of my favorites and I have been around the block. I love this movie for a few reasons. I'm Italian, and the humor reminds me of my own family, as well as the intense dramatic moments. Its got u laughin most of the time, cryin the other. Heartfelt. Just a REAL Italian family kind of feel. Love it. It's like home.
And its not your typical "Goodfellas" movie. Its really more like a dramady.........
