Movie Reviews of 24: Season Six

Movie Review: The most compelling and perhaps the most ambitious season of the saga!
Summary: 5 Stars

This time Jack Bauer will have to face against an even much more complex and delicate conspiracy than he ever imagined on.

Once he is released from his detention in China by political agreements, a dark complot that involves five nuclear weapons of one kiloton of power and that may be easily transported into a suitcase.

Soon, he will find out that this terrible treat will include his own family (father and brother).

But there's more, the way to face against the bureaucratic barriers in order to minimize the probably consequences of this coward attack.

On the other hand, we will witness the issue of the power behind stage, when the President Wayne Palmer be injured into a failed assassination attempt and how the Vice President can not hide his obvious ambition and the way he regards the way to negotiate with terrorists. A close resemblance about how to act when the security of the nation is jeopardized, by the two well known visions (The Republicans and Democrats).

Once more, Charles Logan (searching for redemption) throws his hat to the ring working out as a link between the White House and the President of Russia through the influence of his wife and how this incident will lead him to the edge of death. By the way this issue remains unsolved.

Perhaps, the only flaw in this exciting saga still remains in my memory. How is it possible that Assad had not been recognized by one of the members of Fayed, being as you and me expect a first order importance in his own country?

And finally how Bauer will have to resign himself to loose his beloved Audrey Raines, who entered into shock state incapable to return to the normality.

Adrenaline and tension all the way through. Don't hesitate and acquire it.

You will be rewarded.

Movie Review: soft landing
Summary: 5 Stars

By the time Jack finds himself walking away from his beloved Audrey and staring at the ocean over which a new sun rises, neither guns nor brains can save him. Jack has come to his end.

Or so we would conclude if we did not know the penchant of '24' writers for making the impossible become plausible.

Along the way, Jack has saved a blooded United States of America and, arguably, its constitution. One of the elements that makes Season 6/Day 6 powerful is the insight into 'politics as the art of the possible' when the possible has been circumscribed beyond precedent by men who are prepared to do anything to advance their cause.

Action, it seems, begets contemplation which begets drama.

Along the way, some fine acting shines. 'Doyle', Jack's alter ego, enters with the unrelective posture of a genuine doofus but proves to be both more and better. Nadia Yassir learns both to lead and to thanks those who have led better, no small less on life's syllabus.

Rena Sofer as Jack's sister-in-law Marilyn Bauer sizzles, though nothing happens, which in life as in television makes for some of the very best heat.

Jack's aim, his preparedness to sacrifice himself, and his capacity for loyalty to love as well as country, undergirds the story line of this addictive project.

Bill Buchanan's (James Morrison) blue eyes blaze, as does his integrity.

I once asked someone in a position to know and with a dollop of skepticism in my manner whether Jack Bauers really exist in this world of space and time. 'Oh yes', he replied, they *do*'.

Maybe they do and maybe they don't. Until I find out, 24 continues both to entertain and to inspire.

Go, Jack, go. A new day comes.

Movie Review: The writers are genius
Summary: 5 Stars

This show, 24, is the best writing ever in the entire world and in the entire history of television writing. These days the rest of Television is just the most dispicible flop shows but 24 is ethical, leaves out the porno and the language is honorable all of which the rest of TV has left me with the turning to news because the entertainment shows have gotten so indecent in their language. 24, even if they wrote a season that was less than we have seen, would be so far better than the rest of television. They could run for 50 years and still be interesting, exciting and leaving the person on the edge of their seat unable to even get out of the chair to go and get a snack.
Each season of 24 is written so well that when things get bad you think it couldn't get any worse and it does - and when you think it couldn't get any worse than that it does, and it so many twists that you think the writers couldn't possibly think of another twist and they do. I can hardly wait until December 4 when season 6 is released because I'll be there to sit for 24 hours to watch unable to get out of my chair.
Oh, if you haven't started watching the seasons yet start with season One. You also had better wait until you have two days off from work because you won't be able to turn off the television until you have seen the last scene and you will be left wishing there were more. You will be lucky because you will have 5 more seasons to watch. I'm always left waiting until the next December waiting for the next season and then I'm sad because I have to wait another year. AHA...such is life. I wish there were another series that were as good as that so I wouldn't have to wait so long for something interesting made for television.

Movie Review: Don't Understand The Critical Panning...I Loved It!
Summary: 5 Stars

Though widely-regarded as the weakest season (barring early feedback about the just-released Season Seven) of the TV series "24", I still found the season to be just as emotionally compelling and intense as any of the previous efforts.

I will admit that, for (at least for me) the first time in show history, the late-season plot (regarding a piece of circuit board machinery) became a bit unbelievable. Of course, all of "24" requires the viewer to suspend reality just a bit, but this time it seemed completely implausible that Jack Bauer would be allowed to complete his task. Aside from that, however, this season created some very thrilling moments and acting, including (my highlights):

-The introduction of some other Bauer family members (let's just say they don't share Jack's patriotism).
-The "Islamic prejudice" storyline that mirrors the feature film "The Siege" in its high drama.
-The acting of Vice President Noah Daniels (played by Powers Boothe), who mirrors the inspired performance of Gregory Itzin (Charles Logan) from Season Five, who also makes an appearance in this season.
-The return of Jack Bauer from his detainment in China and how (or if?) he is able to transition back into normal society.

As usual, the intensity of Kiefer Sutherland's Bauer as well as the "staff" of CTU Los Angeles turn in great performances, with special props given to James Morrison as Bill Buchanan.

Thus, I cannot see where others saw this season falling short of previous efforts, as I found it to continue the "24" tradition of exciting plots, great acting, and mind-boggling twists and turns along the way.

Movie Review: What is everyone talking about? Season 6 rocks!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have read the reviews made by other people, and frankly, I don't know what they are talking about. I have watched all the seasons of 24, starting from season 1, and I am able to judge all of them fairly. My order is as follows:
Season 1
Season 6
Season 2
Season 5
Season 4
Season 3
Don't get me wrong. I put season 3 last, but it was still a damn good season. By definition, anything to do with 24 is amazing, and season 3 was no different. But I digress.
Season 6 is more action-packed, more suspenseful, and generally more well-done then the previous 4 seasons. Each episode kept me on the edge of my seat. More than once throughout the season, I audibly gasped. There are times throughout the season where you forget to blink for minutes on end, as thrilling as the gunfights are, and there are times when you blink repeatedly to get the tears out of your eyes.
The characters are spectacular. Specifically, Tom Lennox and Philip Bauer (and of course, Jack Bauer) are truly wonderful. 24 is very obviously not a -laugh-out-loud show, but Tom Lennox made me chuckle quite a few times with his reactions. Philip Bauer is positively creepy, and it is impossible to take your eyes of of him.
In conclusion, the other reviewers all seem to be a bit crazy, because season 6 is the best season of 24 in a long, long time. I highly recommend it.
