Movie Reviews of 1408 (Widescreen Edition)

Movie Review: Great film, one of the best Stephen King adaptations.
Summary: 4 Stars

Stephen King is a good writer, not a great one if I'm truthful with my opinion, and I really enjoyed this latest adaptations of one of his works (a short story this one).

Althogh it lacked excess gore, violence and gratuituous sex, I thorougly enjoyed seeing John Cusack decent into madness, and have to admit was quite touched by his dilemma at times.

Great effect, a few shocks and a good story, all in all an above-average horror and will be excellent at home with the surround sound pumping.

Movie Review: Very Good. Very Scary
Summary: 4 Stars

John Cusack's performance in 1408 is amazing, along with Sammy L's performance. 1408 is a really gripping, really terrifying movie that takes place in a haunted apartment in a New York City hotel. The scenes are really terrifying throughout, and it's a wonderfully scary movie.

Let me just say that when John Cusack goes to the post office, it is very confusing, but otherwise 1408 is a great thriller film.

Movie Review: 1408 - Great Flick!
Summary: 4 Stars

1408 was a great horror flick that deserves an unconditional four stars. The story was transferred to the screen beautifully and the film was a great screen adaptation from the King story. No sex, no (excessive) violence, just pure Stephen King horror. It did drag a bit as it approached the ending, but kept my interest throughout. Needless to say, Cusack and Jackson were superb! I think you will love it.

Movie Review: Very cool..
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm happy to see a well made "scary" movie for once. Most fall very short of this due to script problems, casting, and overall interest in what it takes to create something disturbing. In other words, "EFFORT"! This fills the void without any apologies. Loved it!

Movie Review: 1408
Summary: 4 Stars

The movie stayed true to Stephen King's short story. Of course they had to add some extra body to the story to make a full film, but at a King fan I was very pleased.
