Movie Reviews of 101 Dalmatians (Two-Disc Platinum Edition)Movie Review: Good Movie, Terrible DVD Summary: 2 StarsI bought this movie because my then 15-month-old daughter was obsessed with the ad (she kept pointing at it and barking at the dalmations). She really does love the movie, but here's my big problem: there are NO LESS than three minutes of crappy Disney and Disney-partner advertisements at the beginning, after putting in the DVD, and you are not allowed to fast-forward nor skip through them. You watch about five or six of them, then get to the menu where you get to finally push play, at which point you're treated to three more before the opening credits begin to roll. It's worse than a rented movie from Blockbuster, and at least with those you have the option of skipping through them!
Overall, though my 19-month-old daughter loves watching the movie (in short segments), I loathe having to load it up for her because by the time the opening credits are rolling, she's usually lost interest and is playing with something else.
Movie Review: Good movie, but this release NOT WIDESCREEN Summary: 4 StarsGood Disney movie for the kids, but I am very annoyed that they did not include the Widescreen version on this release. I looked all over the box, but did not see it in the mouseprint. Disney, given that so many of then new sets and monitors are 16:9, WHY DID YOU RELEASE THIS IN FULLSCREEN ONLY?!!!
Movie Review: 101 Dalmations Summary: 5 StarsAs I grew up hearing about 101 Dalmations, my overall experience of this most distinguishable polka dot breed of dog almost always comes back to the influence of this very video. The animation standards and technology used to create cartoons have evolved since the 1950s, the era 101 Dalmations was created. That part is clear when viewing this Disney classic. However, it's also clear how much of a cutting edge work of art 101 Dalmations was for its time. 101 Dalmations is and always will be a classic because it has underlying timeless themes of hope, humour, and suspense. While cutting edge has its place, it is equally valuable to go back to the starting days and roots when modern animation began. There's only one adequate way to summarize this video: It's a Disney.
Movie Review: 101 Dalmations Summary: 5 StarsThank you for your prompts service in delivery. I appreciate your help in getting this to my children so quickly. Jayne Page
Movie Review: Disney's BEST! Summary: 5 StarsThis has always been my favorite Disney movie and still is. I just LOVE this one! Is there a better villain than Cruella DeVille? Doubt it!
