Movie Reviews of 1 Giant Leap

Movie Review: Truly a Giant Leap!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the first public preview of this DVD last month at Yerba Buena Gardens, in San Francisco. This DVD is so incredible! It didn't take long to recognize the creative alchemy and authenticity that went into this work. The result is a treasure of profound beauty and thoughtful wisdom.

The music, the imagery, the story-telling and spoken word, all fused brilliantly with inspired arrangements... I've not seen anything else quite like it--1 Giant Leap is as thought-provoking as it is beautiful to watch. The information is densely packed, throughout. The DVD is initially set to let you play just one chapter at a time. This is to allow viewers to take it all in and evoke discussion. There is also a 'jukebox mode' to let the viewer create their own viewing experiences, as well as a 'loop mode' to play the whole thing in its entirety.

One Giant Leap is a a real treasure, and I whole-heartedly recommend it!

Movie Review: Transcending global boundaries
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this DVD. I love the concept, the interviews and most of all the music. I think that this DVD really shows how beautiful the world can be when we are brought together. The film doesn't have a plot, but instead explores ideas such as Money, Death, Happiness, and Creativity. Each chapter has interviews that are poignant, insightful and full of wisdom, as well as a song that further explores the topic. Personally, I love how each track uses music from all over the world. Duncan Bridgeman and Jamie Catto traveled around the world recording music including African drum beats, Celtic vocals, Indian flutes, Didgeridoos, and much, much more. Each layer was recorded on location and later mixed together to form gems of world music. If you aren't convinced go to Youtube and check out some excerpts.

Movie Review: inspirational and fun
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a mesmerizing mix of music, mantra and fun. Interviews with some very interesting people (some of whom are truly profound) on issues of spirituality and music are interlaced with very happening world music, and terrific images.

(My only tiny gripe is that some of the images come at you in too frenetic a way. Other than that, incredible job with matching music to images, layering multiple images together in a meaningful way, and putting so much together in a compelling format - amazing).

If you are interested in spiritual questions but are not dogmatically tied to any one religion, and music makes your heart sing, you will probably want to watch this over and over. Delightful.

Movie Review: Absolutely Outstanding!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a film that opens your eyes wider to the world community. It does so in such a beautiful, alluring and gratifying way. It entertains you with stunning music, visually striking and beautiful scenes and spoken dialogue while it initiates deeper thought about so many human issues that need to be dealt with individually and collectively as a human race. At moments you go "wow" at other moments you say "deep" and then at others you sigh and say the truth cannot be held back and we as a human race must do something....

I love this dvd and plan it as a gift for all adults I plan gifts for. That's how important I feel this film is. A "must see" and "must experience" musical and visionary experience.

Movie Review: ULTIMATE MUSICAL/CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Summary: 5 Stars

A must have for intellectuals. You do not have to love music as much as I do. Just pay attention. The minute you see this video, you will have travelled the planet called earth and fallen in love with all its peoples. Welcome to a planet earth without borders, without a dress code, and no language barrier. Warning to visitors, leave your preconceptions at the door. Learn something new. You are not in China, India, Pakistani, Europe, Africa, America or some undiscovered planet. Finally Atheists, Christians and Muslims can come together as one people in this celebration of humanity. You are here as one of us;a human.

Enjoy
